Valve seat inserts and valve guides are important components within the valve train and essential for the perfect combustion process within the cylinder. 

Our components have to guarantee a perfect seal of the combustion chamber in conjunction with the valve, to ensure that the necessary compression and combustion pressures are achieved within the cylinder. 

Increased wear results in changes to the combustion conditions and therefore reduced performance and increased emissions data for the engine.

VALVE SEAT INSERTS

The valve seat insert forms a tribological system in conjunction with the valve, which has to ensure the required functionality even after several million load cycles. 

Rates of wear are therefore required in modern engines that satisfy the maintenance-free operation of the mechanical valve train. 

This is in addition to extremely demanding running conditions.

VALVE GUIDES

The increasingly restrictive legislation on exhaust emissions raises the requirement for lower oil leakage rates for the valve guides. Precise clearance between valve shaft and valve guide, materials with good self-lubrication capabilities and dry-running suitability prevent abrasive or adhesive wear and therefore poorer performance and emissions data of the engine.
